What is Eraly?

Eraly is a daily time-travel guessing game from the set of browser games shown in Clueffy videos. You are shown a moment from history and must say which year it happened. The closer your guess, the more points you score and the further your little time traveller walks through the game world.

A full run has 7 moments, one guess for each, with 25 seconds on the clock per question. The game rates every guess as exact, close, near, rough or else, worth 100, 85, 60, 30 or 10 points. That makes Eraly less about trivia perfection and more about estimating well when you only half remember an event.

How to play Eraly

  1. Each run has 7 moments from history, with one guess each and 25 seconds on the clock per question.
  2. Guess the year you think it happened.
  3. The closer you get, the more points you score and the further you travel through time. The game labels guesses exact, close, near, rough or else, worth 100 down to 10 points.

Eraly strategy and tips

Build a window before you pick a year

Start with the broad era: ancient, medieval, early modern, industrial or modern. Then narrow it using clues in the prompt such as technology, rulers, wars or materials. A guess in the right decade earns far more than a wild guess in the right century.

Aim for the middle of your window

If you think an event happened between 1850 and 1900, guess near 1875. Being slightly off on either side still lands in the close or near bands, while guessing an edge risks dropping to rough.

Watch the 25-second clock

Do not spend the whole timer hunting for certainty. A reasoned guess at 15 seconds beats a perfect memory that arrives after time runs out. Practise estimating quickly on events you already know well.

  • Anchor on eras you know well, then adjust: wars, inventions and reigns give you a rough window.
  • Compare the event with something you can date, such as which technology or leader it involves.
  • When unsure, guess the middle of your window rather than an extreme.

Who is Eraly for?

Eraly suits anyone who enjoys short, replayable browser games in the history & time travel style. A run takes only a few minutes, you do not need an account to try it, and the rules are simple enough to learn in a single attempt. It is a good game to play with friends: compare scores, argue about answers and see who spots the most unusual idea. If you first met it in a Clueffy video, this page gives you the context the video skips, including how scoring works and what to aim for.

Once you are comfortable, move to a different game in the same family to stretch the same skill in a new setting. Our Clueffy game guides compare all of them side by side, and the home page lets you search by what a game looks like if you forget a name.
